East Renfrewshire Council Early Years
East Renfrewshire Council identified five locations for the development of new build Early Years facilities to enable their enhanced early years provision, each site with its own characteristics to be addressed. Each of the five buildings demonstrate a paradigm shift in the design of environments for new young learners with a focus on the importance of external learning and the experience of nature and landscape first-hand as part of their learning. The design solution supports young learners to investigate, enquire, learn and play in spacious, light and airy playrooms and natural landscaped spaces, enhancing their wellbeing and confidence.

Calderwood Primary School
The new build Calderwood Primary school is integrated into the new emerging Calderwood settlement and was delivered for West Lothian Council (WLC) as part of their Core Development Area of Calderwood. The school has been designed to be built in two phases, the first phase provides a two-stream primary, accommodating 462 pupils with an early years facility accommodating 128 children. As the masterplan build out develops there will be a requirement for a future second phase to be added to the school, providing a third stream, increasing the capacity by an additional 231 pupils.
